According to the function of a sentence, it is classified into eight types :-
- Noun :- Word (except a pronoun) that indicates a person, place or thing, or names.
- Adjective :- It describes a noun or a pronoun. It specifies quality, size and number.
- Verb :- It shows state of action.
- Conjunction :- Words that link other words, phrases, or clauses together.
- Preposition :- It refers to the word which specifies a location and shows the relation of a noun, noun phrase, a sentence with another word.
- Article :- word used before noun.
- Interjection :- It conveys strong emotion, and usually has an exclamatory sign in the end.
- Adverb :- Words used to modify a verb, an adjective or another adverb.
